Preparing for LT-sep iterations
20
- Ratio of Data/MC vs. phi for different t bins for both low/high epsilon looks
21
  more consistent
22
  - set interference terms LT,TT to zero
23
  - sigL had a (t-0.2) type term, removed for now
24
    - the motivation of the (t-0.2) in the Fpi-2 pi-/pi+ analysis was to give a
25
      simple proxy for t'
26
    - the dependence of the Ratios vs t once the iterations start will give
27
information on what the data will require as far as t-dependent
28
      parameterization is concerned
29

30
- Short routine to recompute SIMC weights after an iteration, to avoid having
31
to re-run SIMC after each iteration
32
  - Still working to improving weight computation
33
  - Garth: use a ratio method to compute the weights, to avoid recompute
34
Jacobians and other factors needed to go from cross section to weight
35
    New_Weight=Old_Weight*(New_dsigma/Old_dsigma)
36
  - Confirm the usage of CM frame variables, before computing the weights
37
  - will almost certainly need to add variables to SIMC ROOT tree to do the new
38
    weight calculation efficiently
39

HeepCoin comparison after Garth's offsets
43
- offsets used were determined using only 2.7, 3.6, 4.5 GeV data
44
  - Vijay justified this choice by the fact that this set had P_SHMS offset
45
equal to zero, which seems more reasonable for these low spectrometer
46
    momenta
47
- Improved W value after applying offsets corrections obtained from Garth
48

49
Next Steps
50
- looking at Heep cross-sections using existing cryotarget boiling corr
51
- also looking at Lumi correction script for Summer 2019 data
52

More on the HeepCoin offsets
56
- looked at Vijay's data for other variables: EM, PMX, PMZ, W
57
- the results seems overall in agreement with predicted quantities
58
  - EM is worst variable in terms of reconstruction, which is disappointing
59
  - overall, observed behavior with offsets is slightly worse than predicted
60
- Low Q^2 data at low -t<0.01 is sensitive to correct offsets
61

62
- Still need to investigate for other energies
63
  - Richard should try GH's offsets determined for 3 highest beam energies
64

65
  - GH might ask Vijay to rerun using an alternate set of offsets for
66
comparison, GH needs to do more study first
67

Nathan
69
------
70
No report. Working on PhD committee report and slides
71

72
Junaid
73
------
74
New parameters for Hodo Vp for 2021 and 2022
75
- still need to see if gap in distribution at x=0 is there or not after
76
  removing HGC cut
77

78
Alicia
79
------
80
Had a meeting yesterday to come up with a plan for the CT "leakage" problem in
81
10.6 GeV data
82
- will not affect BSA analysis, except that will have to apply Beta cut before
83
  selecting random windows
84

87
Just returned from Pakistan. The plan going forward:
88
- Study Beta cut dependence on data rates and on other variables, to see if the
89
CT leakage correction is stable, or not
90
- will start with Heep data, then move to physics
91
- will calculate separate corrections for pi/K/p, to see if they're equivalent
92
  (within errors)
93

94
- will calculate the CT leakage correction in the report files, so it will be
95
available for all runs in the nxt replay
96

97
- Tanja: will the correction determined from only some runs, or all?
98
  - AU: it depends on what the data show. We hope it's not rate dependent, but
99
we have to check. Maybe the HeepCoin data give the most reliable
100
    correction.

104
Working on selection optimization for KaonLT data @ 3.8 GeV
105
- copied some output ROOT files from iFarm to local workstation
106
- Good news: There is no Coin Time vs. Beta tails observed for these data.
107
- particle ID studies for K+ in progress
108
