Feb 23/22 PionLT/KaonLT Analysis Meeting Notes ---------------------------------------------- Participants: - Tanja Horn, Richard Trotta, CUA - Pete Markowitz, FIU - Dave Gaskell, JLab - Jacob Murphy, Julie Roche, Ohio - Nathan Heinrich, Garth Huber, Muhammad Junaid, Stephen Kay, Love Preet, Ali Usman, Regina Please remember to post your slides at: https://redmine.jlab.org/projects/kltexp/wiki/Kaon_LT_Meetings Stephen ------- - meeting with Casey re. ifarm job system (swif) - trying to merge his work with hcswif - Stephen's scripts dynamically allocate disk space & memory, while hcswif has these hard coded - hcswif allows for run# ranges, as opposed to specifying each one individually - updates to hcana - looking into putting singles trigger assignments into a PARAM file instead of hard coded - will be called HMS, SHMS instead of TRIG1, TRIG3, etc - adding raw untracked COINTIME variable, for untracked analysis - Mode-10 stuff is already included - cleaned up UTIL_BATCH - divided into different run periods Ali --- - Analysis Plan - divided up Heep-COIN and Heep-SINGLES runs with Richard - fine tune efficiencies and offsets - discussed things with Peter Bosted, to gain from his experience - PB pion PID cuts -> aero npe > 4.0, aerogel eff ~96% for both indices of refraction - PB noticed some SIMC bugs in implementation of detector sizes and 3/4 trigger - he turns off the detector-ALL flag to avoid the bug - *Suggestions* - Gaskell: we should fix the routine instead of turning off the flag! - in addition, DG is a bit puzzled that PB found sensitivity to this issue, as other SIDIS analyses haven't been sensitive to it - PB has an HMS x-tar data offset of 2.7mm (vertical position of beam on target) but doesn't have any offset in SIMC - *Suggestions* - Gaskell: by default hcana uses BPM information to calculate focal plane quantities (e.g. delta). If BPM wrong, then delta wrong a bit too. - DG is puzzled that it's only for HMS and not SHMS - we don't necessarily have to follow PB's path, but we should learn from him and decide our own solutions - *Task for AU* - Ali should ask PB for an example SIMC input file Goals for Next Meeting ---------------------- - Heep-COIN analysis from Richard and Ali - Vijay will clean up singles Heep script - Vijay looking at low Q^2 data SIMC comparions - Nathan hoping for new FADC deadtime plots - Junaid will show some detector calibration plots Next Meeting ------------ Wednesday March 9 at 12:00 Eastern/11:00 Regina
