June 20/25 PionLT/KaonLT Analysis Meeting Notes ----------------------------------------------- (Notes by GH) Today: PionLT will be discussed first Please remember to post your slides at: https://redmine.jlab.org/projects/kltexp/wiki/Kaon_LT_Meetings Present ------- Regina - Garth Huber, Alicia Postuma, Ivan Zhenchuk, Nathan Heinrich, Muhammand Junaid, Nacer Hamdi York - Stephen Kay CUA - Tanja Horn Ohio - Julie Roche FIU - Pete Markowitz Nathan ------ Met with Dave last week about the deadtime investigation - Nathan will double check at what step TCOIN.param files are called by hcana, to confirm that they are read in correctly, working on this now - Nathan will also verify that cuts in PARAM file are working correctly - right now, the cuts are producing weird offsets in some bars - will be busy with JLUO BOD work this week, so tasks will largely wait until Nathan returns to Regina Junaid ------ Q2=3.85, W=2.62 LT-sep - shows un-iterated sig_unsep with Garth's Rosenbluth fit - made own script to do the fit and confirming that get the same results as Garth - setting up for iterations, will start with Tanja's Fpi-2 parameterization and her final parameters Nacer ----- Q2=0.50 K+ LT-sep - shows un-iterated sig_unsep with Garth's Rosenbluth fit - made own script to do the fit, but so far it only uses 1 epsilon data - Tanja: it's not possible to extract sigL using only 1 epsilon, you have to do a simultaneous fit of all (2eps)*(15phi)=30 data points to extract L,T,LT,TT Ivan ---- Q2=0.50 BSA - selecting pi+ and K+ using a common set of RF cut limits, but selecting different peaks for each one - for K+, does a pi+ leakthrough subtraction, normalizing to the pi+n peak - the normalization factor is nearly constant per bin - do not understand why, but the pi+n peak is slightly different width between K+ sample and leakthrough subtraction sample, this means the subtracted region is negative on the sides - pi+n normaliation needs some adjustment, want the subtracted pi+n region to integrate to zero - *NB* Ivan should meet with Nacer to confirm whether his replay shows the same pi+n width difference - K+ BSA nearly zero within errors - full fit clearly overfits the data, should try simple fit only - pi+ BSA slightly nonzero, errors of course smaller - K+ t-binning - tried 3 t-bins, ~20k events/bin for center SHMS setting only - Alicia had ~10k events/bin, but the beam polarization for her data was much higher, for these data the beam_pol is ~38% so errors are magnified by 2.5x - this binning shows the K+ BSA has a small t-dep, slighly more significant deviation from zero for highest t-bin - pi+ t-binning - 3 t-bins - t range is different than K+, Alicia suggests to try comparable t'=t-tmin - limits Alicia ------ - wrote PLB regarding slow response from them - apparently 2 referees did not respond after repeated reminders, so Haiyan Gao has now started all over with new referees, unfortunately this means the last 2.5 months have been wasted - she says that part of the problem is that most potential referees are authors on the paper Next Meeting ------------- - Thur June 26 @ 15:30 Eastern/13:30 Regina - KaonLT will go first
