Apr 16-17/26 PionLT/KaonLT Analysis Meeting Notes ------------------------------------------------- (Notes by GH) Today: PionLT will be discussed first Thursday: Present ----------------- Regina - Garth Huber, Nathan Heinrich, Alicia Postuma, Nermin Sadoun, Vijay Kumar, Nacer Hamdi, Muhammad Junaid Ohio - Julie Roche CUA - Chi Kin Tam, Sameer Jain, Tanja Horn CSULA - Konrad Aniol JLab - Dave Gaskell Nathan ------ PionLT LT-sep - need to do PID studies for Q2=5.0 W=2.95 setting - showed last week that there was lots of p/K leakthrough for all 3 epsilons - some cut presumably incorrect somehow - UTIL_PION has PID study stuff, but it's broken - Nacer has supplied his PID code for comparison Juunaid ------- - no report, working on thesis - leaves for Pakistan this weekend, plans to attend Friday meetings while away Sameer ------ PionLT PID cuts for Q2=1.6 W=3.08 setting - applied NGC <5npe cut to remove positrons, peak in PCAL went away - *NB* Nathan: suggest to reverse the NGC >5npe cut to see where in MM the positrons end up - if they are far from pi+n region, the positrons will be eliminated by MM anyways and won't need this cut - shows plots of RFtime vs MM w/ various cuts - RFtime cut doesn't seem to help remove background beyond the other PID cuts - looking at Dummy Target subtraction, plans to show some results next week Alicia ------ u-channel Q2=3.0 W=3.14 LT-sep - data shown for SHMS center high epsilon setting - compared default u-channel SIMC model (based on extrapolation of Bill's thesis) to data - data is 10-30x higher than SIMC, depending on setting and u-bin - looks like upper end of MM cut will need to move higher - need to confirm with Richard on what Boiling Correction to use for these data Vijay ----- PionLT low Q2 LT-sep - shows new results for Q2=0.375, 0.425 w/ t-shift applied - 5-6 iterations were done for both - sigL is flatter now at low -t - sigT has moved up to compensate - higher -t bins don't change much - *NB* Garth: please make new plots of kinematic and spectrometer variable comparisons with data Chi Kin ------- KaonLT high Q2 LT-sep - revised pion bkd subtraction after new HGC cut - working on new method of doing background subtraction event-by-event should improve agreement between data and MC Nacer ----- KaonLT Q2=0.5 LT-sep - found a bug in CoinBlock correction script and now has a factor for each run, will include this info in next yield calcs - adjusted t-bin limits upwards, move from 9 to 8 t-bins, due to application of t-shift - getting SLURM time out errors, changed memory allocation but it didn't help - some Lambda statistics anomalies - was expecting ~10k events/bin, but some t-bins at high epsilon seem anomalously low, low epsilon statistics are as expected - still investigating Friday: Present --------------- Regina - Garth Huber, Alicia Postuma, Nacer Hamdi, Nermin Sadoun, Nathan Heinrich, Muhammad Junaid CUA - Tanja Horn, Chi Kin Tam JMU - Gabriel Niculescu Virginia - Richard Trotta York - Stephen Kay FIU - Pete Markowitz Nermin ------ PionLT LD2 cryotarget boiling corrections - replaying data, had some errors due to definition of ROOT path, problem fixed, replaying data now - there are cryotarget runs for both 2021 and 2022 Richard ------- KaonLT high Q2 LT-sep - followed up on CoinTime blocking report file errors reported by Nacer - replay 4b should be done next week - Chi Kin sent an email on what optics offsets to use, will require a replay 4c - looked at Q2=3.0 W=3.14 w/ t-shift - need to implement Chi Kin's new HGC hole cut - need to redo bkd subtraction - Alicia: asked for clarification on LH cryotarget boiling factor - using same as Ali 4.3%/100uA - *NB* Nathan: Sameer had mentioned earlier on checking if KaonLT CoinLumi yields are flat vs current/rate - Richard needs to follow up on this Gabriel ------- KaonLT Lambda Sigma0 Lambda* analysis - progress is slow, wants to do all settings at once in a unified picture Next Meetings ------------- - Thurs: Apr 23 @ 16:00 Eastern/14:00 Regina - KaonLT will go first - Fri: Apr 24 @ 11:00 Eastern/9:00 Regina - we will continue where we left off
