Fixed plots for x60_2, preliminary results for x60_4 with dummy subtraction.¶
The analysis script I'm using has an option to automatically scale plots to the same height, possibly to compare the shape of the distribution between the MC and the data. This option was selected when I ran the analysis before, so I turned it off, and now the ratios between the plots on a setting are more consistent. Attached corrected plots for x60_2, LH2 and LD2 (no dummy subtraction).
I've also run the analysis for x60_4 on LH2 and LD2. This kinematic was primarily run on ps4, so we had dummy runs on ps4 and I was able to do the dummy subtraction for this kinematic.
Plots show that the yield for LH2 is substantially lower than expected, and there's an odd Ytar distribution, even with dummy subtraction.
There's also a note in the target survey from the beginning of the experiment that the thickness of the exit wall for the LH2 target is about 20% thicker than the thickness of the target exit at the tip. So, I ran the analysis for LH2 at kinematic x60_4 compensating for this effect (x60_4_LH2_ratios_wall.pdf). The Ytar distribution here shows a ripple at the downstream (positive) end of the target and dips slightly into the negative, which indicates that using the wall thickness instead of the tip thickness is probably an oversubtraction.
