Pion-LT/Kaon-Lt Meeting: Wednesday, October 26, 2022
2
3
Normally, pion-LT would go first today, but Richard had to leave early for
4
travel to DNP, so he went first.
5
6
**** Updates ****
7
8
Richard:
9
At the quarterly analysis meeting, Peter Bosted mentioned the luminosity
10
scan runs that had been taken just after Kaon-LT. These were taken with only
11
one arm at a time (both set for electrons I think), so should be easier to
12
interpret. Richard is looking into those runs.
13
14
Peter also provided information about some the rate-dependent effects he
15
observed/found corrections for [DG note: some corrections may depend on the
16
version of hcana used, as well as exact value of timing cuts I think]
17
18
Also working on using Bill's cross section code. Need an example of Bill's
19
root trees to understand structure.
20
21
[There was some discussion about what Bill's code does since DG is not
22
familiar with it. Perhaps would be useful to have Bill attend a meeting to
23
give a brief overview?]
24
25
Jacob:
26
Not much to report (was traveling). Trying to meet with Holly to discuss
27
HMS and SHMS optics (see discussion from a couple weeks ago).
28
29
Nathan:
30
Busy with committee reports and coursework - no analysis updates this week.
31
32
Junaid:
33
Also busy with committee report (2nd draft).
34
35
Jacob expressed interest in seeing committee reports. Nathan and Junaid
36
agreed to pass them along when finalized. [DG comment: provides good example
37
of style of discussion appropriate for thesis].
38
39
Ali:
40
Working on implementing the spectrometer/angle offsets that Peter came up
41
with when analyzing all the SIDIS/Kaon-LT data and seeing how well they
42
work with the Heep data. Peter basically only has an offset for the HMS central
43
momentum (this offset is a function the HMS momentum).
44
45
[DG comment: I think Peter also includes on offset for the HMS out-of-plane
46
angle. This has been around since the 6 GeV days, so might already be baked into
47
replay offsets.]
48
49
Also taking another look at tracking parameters and tracking efficiency
50
determination.
51
52
Meeting next Wednesday at the same time, then the following week
53
switches to the new meeting time: 7:15 Regina/8:15 Eastern
