23
BCM offset for low current runs:
24
  SHMS 16738-16746 HMS 16727-16737
25
- applied a 30nA offset
26
- seems to work better for HMS than SHMS, SHMS looks like it would need a
27
  slightly larger offset
28
- Runs 12144-12154 have LT that vary widely, for these the HMS is more reliable
29
than SHMS, but the SHMS rate is 10x the HMS rate
30
  - based on this Dave prefers to use the offset that works best for HMS
31
  - GH is less convinced, since for the 16xxx runs the HMS and SHMS rates are
32
comparable, so GH would prefer to find a compromise offset between HMS and
33
    SHMS
34
  - in the end, it probably won't make much difference between 30nA and 50nA
35

36
Next steps:
37
- For Runs 12181-91 will play a bit more with the offset, will be ~150nA
38
- then do a BCM2 quadratic term check
39
- calculate uncertainties in I,Q_beam for each run by propagating uncertainties
40
in calib offset in slope with the specific current used in each run
41

44
PionLT Heep offset study
45
- beam energy for 7.9 GeV in standard.kinematics was not updated
46
  - using an average of two Arc energy measurements
47
- shows result of OOP offset fit, needed to apply an estimated systematic
48
uncertainty (0.0014/Pshms) to get the chi-square/dfm near 1
49

50
- Dave: need to use Mark's calculated beam energies at Hall C target, the Arc
51
energy measurement gives an average value in the Arc, corresponding to about
52
the middle of the Arc. Mark calculates the synchrotron radiation from the
53
center of the Arc to the pivot, you need to subtract this number from the Arc
54
measurement to get the pivot energy value
55
  - the difference is negligible for energies < 8 GeV, but grows quickly with
56
energy above this, particularly for 10-11 GeV beam
57
  - Mark's table is at:
58
    https://hallcweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Table_of_12_GeV_Beam_Energy_Measurements
59

60
- updated report template files and BCM2 for current
61

62
Next steps:
63
- moving on to HMS Cer, Cal electron efficiencies
64
- waiting on GH to redo in-plane offsets
65

66
Vijay
67
-----
68
- no report, working on last parts of thesis
69

70
Alicia
71
------
72
BSA analysis
73
- in contact w/ B-G Yu re. Regge model calcs
74
  - specifically looking for theory calc for our bin-by-bin kinematics
75
- hoping to distribute a draft manuscript to this group next week
76

77
Ali
78
---
79
piDelta analysis
80
- finished Q2=3, W=2.32 shape study and extracted BSA
81
- two settings left, Q2=3, W=3.14 and Q2=2.1
82
  - hoping to have results in 1-2 weeks
83
- also working on parts of thesis
84

85
Nacer
86
-----
87
Low Q2 KaonLT
88
- setting up SIMC for first time
89
- had to do some tweaks to get ROOT conversion program to work
90
- recon script updates, these are experiment specific, not part of SIMC package
91
- Dave's code changes for ALMA9 OS change
92

93
Next steps:
94
- need to apply beam energy, angle and momentum offsets and check that they're
95
  implemented corectly
96
- then move to Heep yields and Data/MC ratios
97

98
Stephen
99
-------
100
Discussion about pending change of iFarm to ALMA9 OS
101
- a lot of hcana stuff is based on older version of ROOT
102
- a good option would be to keep an older copy of ROOT on group disk
103
  - also need to confirm which version of Python is needed
104
- a good path forward would seem to take the Hall C RH7 container and get
105
  things set up in there
106
- people can ssh to ifarm9 (ALMA9 interactive node) now to check what breaks
107

108
- Stephen, Nathan, Junaid and Nacer will work together on this and report back
109
  to group next week
